Debate nebraska Camp
OVERVIEW
Welcome to camp! Debate Nebraska offers a free summer virtual camp open to all debaters of all skill sets. Work with our experienced instructors to learn the ropes of high school debate, specifically in Lincoln Douglas and Policy Debate. Learn all kinds of different argumentation from each instructor’s distinct area of specialization in debate, including philosophy, theory, policy, and more! Our 2024 summer camp will take place from August 5th to August 9th virtually. Each day will feature a schedule full of lectures, drills, and practice rounds within groups of mentees. Prepare for personalized learning and a whole lot of fun! Our planned schedule will be attached to the registration form once it releases.
STRUCTURE
Debaters will be split into different groups based on experience and skill level within debate so we may ensure for the best debate education. Pending on student sizes, expect each group to have 5-6 peers that you’ll collaborate with and learn with. Each day will entail working with your group.
SCHEDULE
Camp will take place each day from 1 PM to 5 PM. The four hours will be split up into group lectures, special electives, debate drills, topic research, and practice rounds. Instructors may have flexibility in determining the material to cover and time spent. A finalized spreadsheet of the daily/week schedule will be attached to the registration form!
