Debate nebraska

National circuit debate is a difficult activity to get into especially in the state of Nebraska because of the lack of tournaments and visibility. The goal of Debate Nebraska is to make information about national circuit debate accessible and pool debate knowledge from all over the state of Nebraska.

On the Debate Nebraska YouTube channel is a series of videos separated into playlists and compiled on this website under the courses header that splits up content in a digestible manner. Coaches and older students that have an expertise in certain areas make videos about those subjects to ensure that students get the best education about topics while acquiring a diversity of perspectives instead of a monolithic approach to debate.

Furthermore, bid tournament names, Tabroom links, key dates, and information are unusually hard to access. Names from the UK TOC bid tournament list many times don’t match with the name of the tournament on Tabroom. The resources page includes a tentative list of national circuit tournaments and Nebraska tournaments including along with necessary information to make signing up and scheduling tournaments easier. It also includes various evidence files for debaters to use.

The Debate Nebraska website and YouTube channel were co-founded by Nebraska debaters Nathan Liu and Jerry Sun. Both have debated in Lincoln Douglas debate and Policy debate at Millard North High School. Currently, Debate Nebraska is led by Jerry Sun.
